, and in him is no darkness at all" 1John 1:5 Even in the very beginning, light was
the first expression of God to be brought forth in the earth. God said, "Let there be light: and there was light." (Gen. 1:3) and yet did not create the sun until the FOURTH day! Before the natural sun was,
THERE WAS LIGHT! And it was God Himself filling the earth with His presence and glory. It was the very essence of Himself, a supernatural light going beyond what man has been able to capture in
artificial light. It was the very core of light which cannot be seen for it is the 'light within and far beyond even the comprehension of light'. It was the light to which no man could draw nigh unto:
"Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath
seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen". 1Timothy 6:15-16
Even the physical breakdown of natural light bespeaks to us of who He is.
Light within itself contains the revelation and expression of the nature and person of God. If one were to allow the sun to shine through a prism upon a white wall, the light would break down into the seven
colors of the rainbow. As we view the hidden nature of light, we begin to understand that just as light is one and has many facets, so too is God ONE GOD and yet as He shines through the prism of our
lives, we begin to SEE Him and all that He is. Truly this grips our hearts for our minds immediately call to remembrance the following scriptures:
"And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I
make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant
between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living
creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every
living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth". Rev. 9:12-17
"And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald". Rev. 4:3
"And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had
in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth". Rev. 10:1-2
Interesting to note is the fact that light always moves in a
straight line, but and when it becomes bent, it reveals its hidden nature (colors). This is what happens when light is filtered through a prism. So in the heavens, we see a bending of light to release the
colors of the rainbow to speak to us concerning covenant. But for those with eyes to see and ears to hear we can look beyond and see HIM! When we look at the rainbow in Noahic covenant, we are reminded of a
God of promise and restoration, but as we view the rainbow in the book of Revelation, we see one which completely encircles the throne of God. Circles do not have a beginning nor do they have an ending thus
bespeaking to us completed promise and completed covenant established by the Eternal God..
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same
was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in
darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that
Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world John 1:1-9
Truly darkness cannot comprehend light, but
light can certainly dispel the darkness. The very life of God is the light which illuminates every man. As the children of God when we are born again, we become one with Him, and the light of His life
emanates from us. Darkness cannot abide around the children of God, for the Light of life which is within us will reveal and remove the presence of any darkness.
Then spake Jesus again unto them,
saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12
Every good gift and every perfect gift
is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his
creatures. James 1:17-18
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1Thess. 5:5
We are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are
in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Mt. 5:14-16
It is important for us to realize
that Jesus is still here in this world today living in each and every believer. Therefore light is still in the world lighting the way to the Father.
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5
