realize that there must be something more. Something is missing to bring about the fulfillment of that life. Someone has been calling his name in the stillness and His heart
begins to cry out in the aloneness of life for answers, even as Nicodemus did: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can
do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him,
Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man a born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God".
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest
the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whiter it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit". (John 3:9-10)
Nicodemus, although learned in the scriptures (John 3:9-10), did not
understand. Sad to say, most of the household of God does not understand either. Most of us have only understood the born again experience to mean salvation. While it is true that we have been forgiven our sins, God
wants us to understand what really has happened. The new birth is the greatest of all miracles, and our salvation experience was but the beginning, yes the entrance into all that the Father is doing and desires to do in
our lives. Let us look at the definitions derived from the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the words 'born again'.
Born: regenerated, procreate, bear, beget, begotten, made, conceived, brought forth, be delivered of
Again: from above, from the first, anew, from the beginning, from the first, from
the top
When Jesus was conceived in His mother's womb, he was begotten of the Holy Spirit. The angel spoke and Mary said, "be it unto me according to thy word" (Luke 1:38). Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit
within the womb Mary through her receiving the promise through the spoken word by faith. That which lived within her was divine and supernatural, yet would have a flesh, blood, and bone body. He was the first to be
begotten from above, and He was the Father's only begotten.
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and
truth" (John 1:14)
Jesus was the first man to be birth by the Holy Spirit. Because He was born of the Holy Spirit and was not conceived of His natural father, He was without sin and death did not 'reign' in
Him. Man could not take His life unless He first laid it down.
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of
blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God". (John 1:12-13)
His creation was supernatural and when we become born again, we too are supernatural! We have been born by the
reception of His word through faith in Jesus Christ. When we came into this world, we were born of our father and our mother. We received their nature and we were the express image of them in the earth. John states that
we have been born of God if we receive Jesus. And when we are born of God through Jesus, we become born of His Spirit, His nature resides within us. This new creation man is truly born of His Spirit and is the express
image of the Son, who is the express image of the Father in the earth. Adam was created, but the new man is conceived! And Paul tells us:
"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed
to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren". (Romans 8:29)
Jesus is the first born of the Father and we are his brethren. We are joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 4:17). We
cannot be separated from Him. When our Father looks upon us, He sees His Son, i.e., a many membered Son. He (Jesus) is the Head and we are His body. We are one with Him.
"For we are His workmanship created
in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
Now as a newborn son of God we have received the mandate to destroy the works of the evil one and
to go about doing good to all who are oppressed of the devil. Our calling was established before the foundation of the world and we are His workmanship. We have been born into the kingdom for such a time as this. All
the creation of God looks forward to the time of the final redemption.
"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God." (Romans 8:19)
The devil is
a crafty deceiver. For centuries he has deceived the church as a whole as to their true identity. It is only through the revealing of truth by the Holy Spirit, that we are being awakened this hour to the truth and
indeed it is make a generation free.
"Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole
creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the
adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body". (Romans 8:21-23)
In closing, Obadiah peered down through time and saw saviours (plural) and declared through his writings for the generations to come:
"And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's". (Obadiah 21)
